The German Commission for UNESCO will celebrate the 40th Anniversary
of the UNESCO World Heritage Convention with a ceremonial event taking place on
21 June 2012 at the Art Nouveau Theatre of the World Heritage city of
Stralsund. About 450 World Heritage experts, comprising the members of the
German Commission for UNESCO, politicians, preservationists and tourist experts
from Germany, will participate in the ceremony. Furthermore, two personalities
from each of the Baltic Sea States, Austria, Luxemburg and Switzerland as well
as a representative of the World Heritage Centre will be invited to attend the
ceremony in Stralsund.
