Harbin Base (http://ine.has.ac.cn) of International Center on Space Technologies for Natural and Cultural Heritage under the Auspices of UNESCO (HIST-HB) was established on 09 January 2015. It is affiliated in NE of HAS. HIST-HB aims to improve natural and cultural heritage monitoring, assessment, conservation and development, prompt technological cooperation and communication on natural and cultural heritage conservation and then to drive the natural and cultural heritage protection and sustainable utilization in Northeast Asia.
Taking full advantage of distinctive fields of HIST-HB, we aim to undertake monitoring and assessment for natural and cultural heritage, biosphere reserves and geoparks using space technologies in Northeast Asia which will provide help for response to global climate change and natural disaster. We also hope to provide scientific bases for heritage conservation and management and promote regional sustainable development by offering advice, technology and training.
