
Organization
HIST was led by director and four deputy directors. The secretariat is in charge of daily affairs management and work coordination. Also, it has three research, technology and training centers. The Research Center is composed of four departments for scientific research. The Technology Center comprises Departments of Space-borne Remote Sensing, Air-borne Remote Sensing, Data Processing and Virtual Technology that provide technical support for heritage research. The Training Center is responsible for international and domestic training sessions. In addition to Beijing, there are also two training bases in Wudalianchi and Sanya. In addition, to pool more advantageous resources and conduct research and training, HIST has established Zhengzhou Base in the Institute of Geography under Henan Academy of Sciences; Harbin Base in the Institute of Nature and Ecology under Heilongjiang Academy of Sciences; Hengyang Base in Hengyang Normal College; and Nanchang Base in Jiangxi Normal University. In cooperation with the Jiuzhaigou World Heritage Administration, it has set up Jiuzhaigou Workstation
